Here is some pictures from the work at the Museum of World Culture. We are working on ceramics and stone material from the Santarem area.

Today was the first day of work at the Museum of World Culture. We mostly planned the comming weeks of work and set up our equipment.

We were also told by the director at the museum not to eat the red berries that was in our room as they were extremely poisonous. The berries were from Australia.

Today we first had a meeting with the Brazilians archaeologists Marcio and Tallyta and the Project manager Per Stenborg regarding the work at the Museum of World Culture that will start this week.

And after the meeting we visited an excavation in the archipelago during some heavy rain!

We would also like to welcome our Brazilian friends that is comming on the 3/8-12 to work with us during August at the Museum of World Culture here in Gothenburg.

Soon its November and once again Patrik and Kjell will travel to Santarem in Brazil. Here is a picture what also is waiting near Santarem.

Here is a book about the British explorer that went missing in the Amazon in the year 1925. He searched for the mystery city of Z that he and others thought could be found in the jungle. Read it! It also talks about recent settlement discoveries in the Amazon rainforest although they are not the lost city of Z they still rewrites the history of the indigenous poplulation in pre-Colombian time living in the Amazon rainforest region.
