-The Cultivated Wilderness-project are organizing a workshop entitled “Beyond Waters: Archaeology and environmental history of the Amazonian inland; examples from the Santarém and Belterra Regions, Pará, Brazil” at the IX Sesquiannual Conference of the Society for the Anthropology of Lowland South America (SALSA) held in Gothenburg, Sweden, June 26-29, 2014.


-The Swedish-Brazilian collaborative work with Santarém materials at the Museum of World Culture in Gothenburg is once again resumed.


-This year's successful field activities are completed.


-Fieldwork is initiated at the Bom Futuro - Ramal do Genipapo site, situated on the Belterra plateau, 48km south of Santarém, Pará, Brazil.


-The work with the Santarém material at the Museum of World Culture in Gothenburg is resumed - this time with the participation of Brazilian researchers.


-The Cultivated Wilderness Project intitiates its work with the Curt Nimuendajú collections at the Museum of World Culture in Gothenburg. This material was collected by the German-Brazilian researcher Curt Nimuendajú in the 1920's and includes the largest existing collection of archaeological material from the Santarém region in the state of Pará, Brazil.
